Berean Study Bible
Yet he did not put their sons to death, - according to what is written in the Law, in the Book of Moses, where the LORD ... commanded: "Fathers must not be put to death for their children, and children must not be put to death for their fathers; - each is to die for his own sin."
English Standard Version
But he did not put their children to death according to what is written in the Law in the Book of Moses where the Lord commanded Fathers shall not die because of their children nor children die because of their fathers but each one shall die for his own sin
Holman Christian Standard Version
However, he did not put their children to death, because - as it is written in the Law, in the book of Moses, where the Lord commanded - "Fathers must not die because of children, and children must not die because of fathers, but each one will die for his own sin."
King James Version
But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded (8765), saying (8800), The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.
Lexham English Bible
But he did not put their children to death, according to what is written in the law, in the scroll of Moses, where Yahweh commanded, saying, "Fathers shall not be put to death on account of the sons, and the sons shall not be put to death on account of the fathers, but each shall be put to death for his own sin."
New American Standard Version
However, he did not put their children to death, but {did} as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, which the Lord commanded, saying, "Fathers shall not be put to death for sons, nor sons be put to death for fathers, but each shall be put to death for his own sin."
World English Bible
But he didn't put their children to death, but did according to that which is written in the law in the book of Moses, as Yahweh commanded, saying, "The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers; but every man shall die for his own sin."
