So the king ordered Doeg, "You turn and strike down the priests!" And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests himself. On that day he killed eighty-five ... men who wore the linen ephod.
English Standard Version
Then the king said to Doeg You turn and strike the priests And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod
Holman Christian Standard Version
So the king said to Doeg, "Go and execute the priests!" So Doeg the Edomite went and executed the priests himself. On that day, he killed 85 men who wore linen ephods.
King James Version
And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned (8735), and he fell upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod.
