Now Jehoshaphat

יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙

and was buried

way·yiq·qā·ḇêr

וַיִּקָּבֵ֥ר

וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ

in his place

תַּחְתָּֽיו׃

he had brothers

of Jehoshaphat

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ,

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט

and Zechariah

ū·zə·ḵar·yā·hū

וּזְכַרְיָ֣הוּ

wa·‘ă·zar·yā·hū,

וַעֲזַרְיָ֔הוּ

and Shephatiah

ū·šə·p̄aṭ·yā·hū;

וּשְׁפַטְיָ֑הוּ

these [were]

of Jehoshaphat

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

their father

mat·tā·nō·wṯ

and of precious things

ū·lə·miḡ·dā·nō·wṯ,

וּלְמִגְדָּנ֔וֹת

with fortified

בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה

ham·mam·lā·ḵāh

הַמַּמְלָכָ֛ה

the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵō·wr.

when was risen up

of his father

and he strengthened himself

way·yiṯ·ḥaz·zaq,

וַיִּתְחַזַּ֔ק

way·ya·hă·rōḡ

his brothers

with the sword

of the rulers

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

וּשְׁתַּ֛יִם

when he began to reign

bə·mā·lə·ḵōw;

ū·šə·mō·w·neh

וּשְׁמוֹנֶ֣ה

in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim.

בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

And he walked

בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ ׀

of the kings

as the house

the daughter

and he worked

[that that was] evil

in the sight

however the LORD

לְהַשְׁחִית֙

to the end that

the covenant

wə·ḵa·’ă·šer

and to him and to his sons

the Edomites

the dominion

way·yam·lî·ḵū

וַיַּמְלִ֥יכוּ

themselves a king

Then went forth

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr

וַיַּֽעֲבֹ֤ר

his chariots

and he rose up

the Edomites

that compassed

has·sō·w·ḇêḇ

the captains

of the chariots

way·yip̄·ša‘

וַיִּפְשַׁ֨ע

the Edomites

[also] did Libnah

he had forsaken

of his fathers

in the mountains

and to commit fornication

caused the inhabitants

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם

and compelled

And there came

to him from Elijah

mê·’ê·lî·yā·hū

מֵֽאֵלִיָּ֥הוּ

of Jehoshaphat

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֣ט

nor in the ways

וּבְדַרְכֵ֖י

but have walked

of the kings

and to go whoring

have made Judah

the inhabitants

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם

like to the prostitutions

kə·haz·nō·wṯ

כְּהַזְנ֖וֹת

as the house

your brothers

of your father

[which were] better

haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇîm

hā·rā·ḡə·tā.

will the LORD

with a great

bə·‘am·me·ḵā;

and your children

ū·ḇə·ḇā·ne·ḵā

וּבְבָנֶ֥יךָ

and your wives

ū·ḇə·nā·še·ḵā

וּבְנָשֶׁ֖יךָ

rə·ḵū·še·ḵā.

רְכוּשֶֽׁךָ׃

bā·ḥo·lā·yîm

בָּחֳלָיִ֥ים

[shalt have] great

bə·ma·ḥă·lêh

of your bowels

by reason of

the sickness

and stirred up

Moreover the LORD

yə·hō·w·rām,

of the Philistines

hap·pə·liš·tîm

הַפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙

that of the Arabians

wə·hā·‘ar·ḇîm,

וְהָ֣עַרְבִ֔ים

And they came up

way·ya·‘ă·lū

against Judah

and broke into it

way·yiḇ·qā·‘ū·hā,

וַיִּבְקָע֔וּהָ

and carried away

וַיִּשְׁבּ֗וּ

the possessions

that was found

with his sons

and his wives

the Jehoahaz

yə·hō·w·’ā·ḥāz

the LORD him

in his bowels

with an incurable

and it came to pass

in process of time

and after the end

by reason of

of his sickness

bə·ṯa·ḥă·lu·’îm

בְּתַחֲלֻאִ֣ים

for him like the fire

כִּשְׂרֵפַ֥ת

of his fathers

וּשְׁתַּ֙יִם֙

he when he began to reign

ḇə·mā·lə·ḵōw,

ū·šə·mō·w·neh

וּשְׁמוֹנֶ֣ה

in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim;

בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

and departed

being desired

and however they buried him

way·yiq·bə·ru·hū

וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֙הוּ֙

in the sepulchers

bə·qiḇ·rō·wṯ

בְּקִבְר֥וֹת

of the kings

ham·mə·lā·ḵîm.
