בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

wə·hin·nî·ḥām

וְהִנִּיחָ֖ם

wə·nis·pə·ḥū

וְנִסְפְּח֖וּ

and shall take

the people them

and bring them

we·hĕ·ḇî·’ūm

וֶהֱבִיא֣וּם

and shall possess

wə·hiṯ·na·ḥă·lūm

וְהִֽתְנַחֲל֣וּם

la·‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm

and handmaids

wə·liš·p̄ā·ḥō·wṯ;

וְלִשְׁפָח֑וֹת

and they shall take them

whose captives

lə·šō·ḇê·hem,

לְשֹֽׁבֵיהֶ֔ם

and they shall rule over

over their oppressors

bə·nō·ḡə·śê·hem.

בְּנֹגְשֵׂיהֶֽם׃

And it shall come to pass

shall give you rest

that the LORD

from your pain

mê·‘ā·ṣə·bə·ḵā

מֵֽעָצְבְּךָ֖

and from your fear

ū·mê·rā·ḡə·ze·ḵā;

וּמֵרָגְזֶ֑ךָ

and from your sorrow

hā·‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh

you were made to serve

and you shall take up

wə·’ā·mā·rə·tā;

וְאָמָ֑רְתָּ

has the oppressor

the golden city

of the wicked

He who struck

with unceasing

he who ruled

is persecuted

they break forth

into singing

the fir trees

bə·rō·wō·šîm

בְּרוֹשִׁ֛ים

lə·ḇā·nō·wn;

[saying] you are laid down

from beneath

for you to meet

[thee] at your coming

[even] the chief ones

of the earth

it has raised up

from their thrones

mik·kis·’ō·w·ṯām,

מִכִּסְאוֹתָ֔ם

of the nations

they shall speak

as we? are you become like

nim·šā·lə·tā.

נִמְשָֽׁלְתָּ׃

is brought down

to the engrave

ḡə·’ō·w·ne·ḵā

of your viols

nə·ḇā·le·ḵā;

תַּחְתֶּ֙יךָ֙

and cover you

ū·mə·ḵas·se·ḵā

וּמְכַסֶּ֖יךָ

and the worms

tō·w·lê·‘āh.

are you fallen

miš·šā·ma·yim

מִשָּׁמַ֖יִם

of the morning

[how] are you cut down

נִגְדַּ֣עְתָּ

to the earth

that did weaken

in your heart

ḇil·ḇā·ḇə·ḵā

בִֽלְבָבְךָ֙

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם

I will ascend

lə·ḵō·wḵ·ḇê-

לְכֽוֹכְבֵי־

I will exalt

and I will sit

on the mount

In the recesses

bə·yar·kə·ṯê

בְּיַרְכְּתֵ֥י

of the north

I will ascend

of the clouds

I will be like

the most High

lə·‘el·yō·wn.

לְעֶלְיֽוֹן׃

you shall be brought down

they who see

you shall narrowly look

יַשְׁגִּ֔יחוּ

consider you

yiṯ·bō·w·nā·nū;

יִתְבּוֹנָ֑נוּ

[saying Is] the man

that made the earth

that did shake

mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ.

מַמְלָכֽוֹת׃

as a wilderness

כַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר

and the cities

of his prisoners

to [go] home

of the nations

in his own tomb

hā·šə·laḵ·tā

הָשְׁלַ֤כְתָּ

out of your engrave

miq·qiḇ·rə·ḵā

מִֽקִּבְרְךָ֙

like an abominable

[and as] the garments

of those who are slain

thrust through

with a sword

that go down

as a carcass

trodden under feet

do be joined

בִּקְבוּרָ֔ה

you have destroyed

hā·rā·ḡə·tā;

shall be renowned

the offspring

of evildoers

for his sons

for the iniquity

of their fathers

’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām;

of the world

For I will rise up

against them

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ;

wə·hiḵ·rat·tî

וְהִכְרַתִּ֨י

from Babylon

and I will also make

wə·śam·tî·hā

וְשַׂמְתִּ֛יהָ

it a possession

for the bittern

and I will sweep

wə·ṭê·ṭê·ṯî·hā

וְטֵֽאטֵאתִ֙יהָ֙

it with the broom

bə·maṭ·’ă·ṭê

בְּמַטְאֲטֵ֣א

of destruction

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ.

I have thought

דִּמִּ֙יתִי֙

shall it come to pass

wə·ḵa·’ă·šer

I have purposed

the Assyrian

my mountains

tread him under foot

’ă·ḇū·sen·nū;

אֲבוּסֶ֑נּוּ

mê·‘ă·lê·hem

מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶם֙

then shall his yoke them

and his burden

wə·sub·bo·lōw,

וְסֻ֨בֳּל֔וֹ

their shoulders

[is] the purpose

hay·yə·‘ū·ṣāh

הַיְּעוּצָ֖ה

[is] the hand

that is stretched out

han·nə·ṭū·yāh

הַנְּטוּיָ֖ה

hag·gō·w·yim.

has purposed

shall cancel [it]

and his hand

[is] stretched out

han·nə·ṭū·yāh

הַנְּטוּיָ֖ה

shall turn it back

yə·šî·ḇen·nāh.

יְשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃

תִּשְׂמְחִ֤י

Philistia you

you is broken

of for out of the serpent

shall come forth

a cockatrice

and his fruit

mə·‘ō·w·p̄êp̄.

And shall feed

the firstborn

and the needy

wə·’eḇ·yō·w·nîm

וְאֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים

and your remnant

ū·šə·’ê·rî·ṯêḵ

וּשְׁאֵרִיתֵ֖ךְ

he shall slay

O city [are]

Philistia you

from the north

miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn

in his ranks

bə·mō·w·‘ā·ḏāw.

בְּמוֹעָדָֽיו׃

[one] Then shall answer

the messengers

of the nation
