Gideon [are]

you too many

for Me to give

the Midianites

into their hands

vaunt themselves

hō·wō·šî·‘āh

therefore go to

in the hearing

of the people

[is] fearful

let him return

and depart early

hag·gil·‘āḏ;

And there returned

וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙

wa·‘ă·śe·reṯ

there remained

נִשְׁאָֽרוּ׃

bring them down

and I will try

wə·’eṣ·rə·p̄en·nū

וְאֶצְרְפֶ֥נּוּ

for you there

and it shall be

[that] I say

but everyone

so he brought down

way·yō·w·reḏ

with his tongue

bil·šō·w·nōw

בִּלְשׁוֹנ֨וֹ

as a dog him

shall you set

that likewise every one

לִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃

of those who lapped

ha·mă·laq·qîm

הַֽמֲלַקְקִ֤ים

בִּרְכֵיהֶ֖ם

By the three

ha·mă·laq·qîm

הַֽמֲלַקְקִים֙

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

the Midianites

into your hands

bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā;

So the people

into their hands

their trumpets

šō·wp̄·rō·ṯê·hem,

שׁוֹפְרֹֽתֵיהֶ֗ם

[the rest of] Israel

lə·’ō·hā·lāw,

לְאֹֽהָלָ֔יו

and those three

וּבִשְׁלֹשׁ־

and the host

in the valley

And it came to pass

בַּלַּ֣יְלָה

that the LORD him

get you down

against the camp

bam·ma·ḥă·neh;

בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

I have delivered

it into your hand

bə·yā·ḏe·ḵā.

and with Phurah

your servant

ham·ma·ḥă·neh.

הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

And you shall hear

wə·šā·ma‘·tā

וְשָֽׁמַעְתָּ֙

yə·ḏab·bê·rū,

and afterward

shall be strengthened

te·ḥĕ·zaq·nāh

תֶּחֱזַ֣קְנָה

and to go down

wə·yā·raḏ·tā

וְיָרַדְתָּ֖

against the camp

bam·ma·ḥă·neh;

בַּֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

Then went he down

and with Phurah

of the armed men

ha·ḥă·mu·šîm

הַחֲמֻשִׁ֖ים

bam·ma·ḥă·neh.

בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

and the Midianites

and the Amalekites

wa·‘ă·mā·lêq

the children

in the valley

כָּאַרְבֶּ֖ה

and their camels

wə·liḡ·mal·lê·hem

וְלִגְמַלֵּיהֶם֙

outside [were]

when was come

[there was] a man

to his friend

מִתְהַפֵּךְ֙

into the camp

bə·ma·ḥă·nêh

way·yak·kê·hū

וַיַּכֵּ֧הוּ

and it that it fell

way·ya·hap̄·ḵê·hū

וַיַּהַפְכֵ֥הוּ

that lay along it

And answered

his companion

nothing else

[is] the sword

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

[so] When Gideon

of the dream

the interpretation

that he worshiped

way·yiš·tā·ḥū;

וַיִּשְׁתָּ֑חוּ

and returned

has delivered

for the LORD

into your hands

And he divided

[into] three

šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ

into the hands

and pitchers

wə·lap·pi·ḏîm

וְלַפִּדִ֖ים

the pitchers

hak·kad·dîm.

הַכַּדִּֽים׃

and likewise me

to the outskirts

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

and it shall be

shall you do

תַּעֲשֽׂוּן׃

wə·ṯā·qa‘·tî

וְתָקַעְתִּי֙

with a trumpet

baš·šō·w·p̄ār,

בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר

ū·ṯə·qa‘·tem

וּתְקַעְתֶּ֨ם

the trumpets

baš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ

בַּשּׁוֹפָר֜וֹת

on every side

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

wa·’ă·mar·tem

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם

[The sword] of the LORD

and of Gideon

ū·lə·ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn.

וּלְגִדְעֽוֹן׃

and the hundred

to the outskirts

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗ה

in the beginning

hā·’aš·mō·reṯ

הָאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת

of the middle

hat·tî·ḵō·w·nāh,

הַתִּֽיכוֹנָ֔ה

they had but

haš·šō·mə·rîm;

הַשֹּֽׁמְרִ֑ים

and they blew

way·yiṯ·qə·‘ū

וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙

the trumpets

baš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ,

בַּשּׁ֣וֹפָר֔וֹת

wə·nā·p̄ō·wṣ

the pitchers

in their hands

way·yiṯ·qə·‘ū

וַֽ֠יִּתְקְעוּ

the trumpets

baš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ

בַּשּֽׁוֹפָרוֹת֮

way·yiš·bə·rū

וַיִּשְׁבְּר֣וּ

the pitchers

way·ya·ḥă·zî·qū

וַיַּחֲזִ֤יקוּ

in their left

śə·m·’ō·w·lām

bal·lap·pi·ḏîm,

בַּלַּפִּדִ֔ים

in their right

the trumpets

haš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ

הַשּׁוֹפָר֖וֹת

liṯ·qō·w·a‘;

[withal] and they cried

way·yiq·rə·’ū,

וַֽיִּקְרְא֔וּ

and of Gideon

ū·lə·ḡiḏ·‘ō·wn.

וּלְגִדְעֽוֹן׃

And they stood

way·ya·‘am·ḏū

וַיַּֽעַמְדוּ֙

in his place

lam·ma·ḥă·neh;

לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

ham·ma·ḥă·neh

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֛ה

way·yā·rî·‘ū

וַיָּרִ֖יעוּ

[way·yā·nî·sū

[וַיָּנִיסוּ

וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֮

the trumpets

הַשּׁוֹפָרוֹת֒

and even throughout all

And gathered themselves together

from Naphtali

min·nap̄·tā·lî

מִנַּפְתָּלִ֥י

way·yir·də·p̄ū

וַֽיִּרְדְּפ֖וּ

the Midianites

and messengers

ū·mal·’ā·ḵîm

וּמַלְאָכִ֡ים

throughout all

the Midianites

before them the waters

hay·yar·dên;

הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן

and gathered themselves together

way·yiṣ·ṣā·‘êq

וַיִּצָּעֵ֞ק

way·yil·kə·ḏū

וַיִּלְכְּד֣וּ

hay·yar·dên.

הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃

And they took

way·yil·kə·ḏū

וַֽיִּלְכְּד֡וּ

and they slew

way·ya·har·ḡū

וַיַּהַרְג֨וּ

way·yir·də·p̄ū

וַֽיִּרְדְּפ֖וּ

and the heads

lay·yar·dên.
