The b is a representation of the tent or house. Combined these pictures mean "look toward the house" or "provide for the family". One does not choose the household which one is born into, including tribe, parents, children and wife (as marriages were often arranged by the father) , it is a gift from God. אַהֲבָה f.
(1) Inf. fem. gen. of the verb אָהַב. With Lamed pref. Isaiah 56:6, לְאַהֲבָה אֶת־שֵּׁם יְהֹוָה “to love the name of Jehovah,” Deuteronomy 10:15, 11:13, 22 Deuteronomy 11:22; Joshua 22:5, 23:11 with בְּ 1 Kings 10:9, בְּאַהֲבַת יְהֹוָה אֶת־ יִשְׂרָאֵל “for the love of Jehovah towards Israel.” In the same sense with the prefix בְּ Hosea 3:1 and מִן Deuteronomy 7:8, מֵאַהֲבַת יְהֹוָה אֶתְכֶם “because that Jehovah loveth you.”
(2) love, specially as between the sexes, Song of Solomon 2:4, 5:8 8:6, of God towards men, Hosea 3:1 of friends towards one another, 1 Samuel 18:3.
(3) love, delight, concr. of a beloved female, Song of Solomon 2:7, 3:5 and so perhaps also verse 10 [“where others take it as an adv. lovely”].
