גָּרַז a root not used in Kal, i.q. גָּזַר (which see), Arab. جرز to cut, to cut off, to separate, also to eat, to devour; whence Sam. a locust.
Niphal, i.q. גָּזַר Niphal No. 2. Psal. 31:23, נִגְרַזְתִּי מִגֶּנֶד עֵינֶיךָ “I am cut off (or am excluded) from thy presence;” comp. נִגְזַר Psalms 88:6. 14 Psalms 88:14MSS. also read in Psa 31:1-24, נגזרתי.
