2) the name given to the cliff which was the stronghold of Edom by king Amaziah after capturing it; also called ‘Selah’ and ‘Petra’
יָקְתְאֵל (“subdued by God,” for יָקְתֶּה אֵל from the root קָתָה = قتا to serve), [Joktheel], pr.n.
(1) of a town of the tribe of Judah, Joshua 15:38.
(2) the name which king Amaziah gave to Sela the metropolis of Arabia Petræa, which he took, 2 Kings 14:7.
