סְגִד fut. יִסְגֻּד Ch. i.q. Hebr. to fall down to worship an idol, Daniel 3:6 a man, Daniel 2:46 followed by לְ. (Syr. ܣܓܶܕ to adore, compare the observations under the word כָּשַׁף. Arab. سَحَدَ id.; whence مَسْجِدُ Mosque.)
