Qal Perfect גָּז Psalm 90:10; Imperfect וַיָּ֫גָז Numbers 11:31; — pass away, of the life of the aged, Psalm 90:10 גָּז חִישׁ; transitive bring over, subject wind, object quails from sea, Numbers 11:31 (read perhaps Hiph`il וַיָּגֶז compare Kö i. 442 Di).

Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

גּוּז (kindred to גָּזַז) pr. to cut in pieces; hence

(1) to pass through, to pass over, or away, i.q. Arab. جَازَ Med. Waw, Syr. ܓܙܳ to pass away, to fail; Psalms 90:10, בִּי־גָז חִישׁ וַנָּעֻפָה “for it (human life) soon passes away, and we fly away.”

(2) caus. to cause to pass away, to bring over; Numbers 11:31, “a wind went forth from Jehovah וַיָּגָֽז שַׁלְוִים מִן־הַיָּם and brought quails from the sea;” LXX. ἐξεπέρασεν, Vulg. detulit, the Hebrew interpreters, and cut off from the sea; compare גזז. As to the word גּוֹזִי Psalms 71:6, see the root גָּזָה.
