Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

חִין m. Job 41:4, i.q. חֵן grace, beauty, whence חִין עֶרְבּוֹ “the beauty of his structure.” The form imitates the Chaldee, in which חֵן, חִנָּא, חִינָא are i.q. Heb. חֵן, like גִּנָּא, גִּינָא for גַּן. [“Comp. שִׁין the name of the letter, for שֵׁן.”] The word with which this is compared by Alb. Schultens, Arab. حِيْنُ opportunity, is only used in speaking of time.
