שׂוּחַ once found Genesis 24:63, “Isaac had gone out לָשׂוּחַ בַּשָּׂדֶה;” Vulg. ad meditandum in agro; so that שׂוּחַ would be the same as שִׂיחַ No. 4. But LXX. Aqu. Symm., express, ad colloquendum, sc. with his friends, or with his servants tending herds in the field; compare שִׂיחַ No. 1; and this appears to be preferable. Aben Ezra and Syr., ad deambulandum, to take a walk; compare Arabic ساح Med. Ye, to wander; especially on account of religion; but this signification appears to be secondary, derived from that of chaunting and pious meditation.
