Then David gave his son Solomon the plan of the vestibule of the temple, and of its houses, its treasuries, its upper rooms, and its inner chambers, and of the room for the mercy seat;

for the altar of incense made of refined gold, and its weight; also his plan for the golden chariot of the cherubim that spread their wings and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord .

David said further to his son Solomon, "Be strong and of good courage, and act. Do not be afraid or dismayed; for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord , succeeding his father David as king; he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.

He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor; and his son Solomon succeeded him.

Solomon son of David established himself in his kingdom; the Lord his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.

Thus all the work that Solomon did for the house of the Lord was finished. Solomon brought in the things that his father David had dedicated, and stored the silver, the gold, and all the vessels in the treasuries of the house of God.

It was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord , and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord , "For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever," the house, the house of the Lord , was filled with a cloud,

And he said, "Blessed be the Lord , the God of Israel, who with his hand has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to my father David, saying,

Now the Lord has fulfilled his promise that he made; for I have succeeded my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord , the God of Israel.

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands.

Solomon had made a bronze platform five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the court; and he stood on it. Then he knelt on his knees in the presence of the whole assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven.
