thus says the Lord God : Remove the turban, take off the crown; things shall not remain as they are. Exalt that which is low, abase that which is high.

As for you, mortal, prophesy, and say, Thus says the Lord God concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; say: A sword, a sword! Drawn for slaughter, polished to consume, to flash like lightning.

You shall say, Thus says the Lord God : A city! Shedding blood within itself; its time has come; making its idols, defiling itself.

In you, they take bribes to shed blood; you take both advance interest and accrued interest, and make gain of your neighbors by extortion; and you have forgotten me, says the Lord God .

Therefore thus says the Lord God : Because you have all become dross, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

Its prophets have smeared whitewash on their behalf, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, "Thus says the Lord God ," when the Lord has not spoken.

For thus says the Lord God : Bring up an assembly against them, and make them an object of terror and of plunder.

They shall repay you for your lewdness, and you shall bear the penalty for your sinful idolatry; and you shall know that I am the Lord God .

And utter an allegory to the rebellious house and say to them, Thus says the Lord God : Set on the pot, set it on, pour in water also;

Therefore thus says the Lord God : Woe to the bloody city, the pot whose rust is in it, whose rust has not gone out of it! Empty it piece by piece, making no choice at all.

Therefore thus says the Lord God : Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile great.

I the Lord have spoken; the time is coming, I will act. I will not refrain, I will not spare, I will not relent. According to your ways and your doings I will judge you, says the Lord God .

Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God : I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and your heart's desire; and your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword.

Thus Ezekiel shall be a sign to you; you shall do just as he has done. When this comes, then you shall know that I am the Lord God .
