When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord .

And as soon as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.

But they did not listen to Moses. Some left part of it till the morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them.

So they laid it aside till the morning, as Moses commanded them, and it did not stink, and there were no worms in it.

And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the quarreling of the people of Israel, and because they tested the Lord by saying, "Is the Lord among us or not?"

But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Moses went out to meet his father-in-law and bowed down and kissed him. And they asked each other of their welfare and went into the tent.
