Then King David rose to his feet and said, "Hear me, my brethren and my people: I had it in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations to build it.

Now He said to me, "It is your son Solomon who shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be My son, and I will be his Father.

Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he is steadfast to observe My commandments and My judgments, as it is this day.'

Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the vestibule, its houses, its treasuries, its upper chambers, its inner chambers, and the place of the mercy seat;

"All this," said David, "the LORD made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans."

And David said to his son Solomon, "Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God--my God--will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

Then Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

So he died in a good old age, full of days and riches and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.

with all his reign and his might, and the events that happened to him, to Israel, and to all the kingdoms of the lands.

1 Kings 3:1-15">[xr] Now Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him and exalted him exceedingly.

And Solomon said to God: "You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

Then Hiram king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: 4 Because the LORD loves His people, He has made you king over them.

(the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre), skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, stone and wood, purple and blue, fine linen and crimson, and to make any engraving and to accomplish any plan which may be given to him, with your skillful men and with the skillful men of my lord David your father.

Now therefore, the wheat, the barley, the oil, and the wine which my lord has spoken of, let him send to his servants.

Then Solomon numbered all the aliens who were in the land of Israel, after the census in which David his father had numbered them; and there were found to be one hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.

Now Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord [fn] had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan 2 Samuel 24:16ff">[fn] the Jebusite.

And he began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

also the pots, the shovels, the forks--and all their articles Huram his master [fn] craftsman made of burnished bronze for King Solomon for the house of the Lord.

So all the work that Solomon had done for the house of the LORD was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and all the furnishings. And he put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: "For He is good,For His mercy endures forever," Psalms 106:1 ">[fn] that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud,
