The angel replied to her: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

For nothing will be impossible with God.”

and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God.

Blessed is the Lord, the God of Israel,because he has visitedand provided redemption for his people.

Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:

Glory to God in the highest heaven,and peace on earth to people he favors!

The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had seen and heard, which were just as they had been told.

Simeon took him up in his arms, praised God, and said,

and was a widow for eighty-four years. She did not leave the temple, serving God night and day with fasting and prayers.

At that very moment, she came up and began to thank God and to speak about him to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.

and everyone will see the salvation of God.

Therefore produce fruit consistent with repentance. And don’t start saying to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones.

The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”

And Jesus answered him, “It is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve

So he took him to Jerusalem, had him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here.

And Jesus answered him, “It is said: Do not test the Lord your God.”

“Leave us alone! What do you have to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

Also, demons were coming out of many, shouting and saying, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Christ.
