and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, shall be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink-offerings to other gods.

Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Look, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.

For thus says Yahweh, Look, I will make you a terror to yourself, and to all your friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes shall watch it; and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive to Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.

Moreover I will give all the riches of this city, and all the gains thereof, and all the precious things thereof, yes, all the treasures of the kings of Judah I will give into the hand of their enemies; and they shall make them a prey, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.

But Yahweh is with me as a mighty one [and] a terrible: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail; they shall be completely put to shame, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which shall never be forgotten.

And I will smite the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast: they shall die of a great pestilence.

And I will prepare destroyers against you, every one with his weapons; and they shall cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.

And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Why has Yahweh done thus to this great city?

Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh their God, and worshiped other gods, and served them.

But in the place where they have led him captive, there he shall die, and he shall see this land no more.

Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? is he a vessel wherein none delights? why are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into the land which they don't know?

And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and multiply.

And I will set up shepherds over them, who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be lacking, says Yahweh.

but, As Yahweh lives, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land.

Therefore their way shall be to them as slippery places in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation, says Yahweh.

And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

In the prophets of Jerusalem also I have seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies; and they strengthen the hands of evil-doers, so that none returns from his wickedness: they are all of them to me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Thus says Yahweh of hosts, Don't listen to the words of the prophets that prophesy to you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.

They say continually to those that despise me, Yahweh has said, You shall have peace; and to every one that walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come on you.

But if they had stood in my council, then they would cause my people to hear my words, and turn them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
