So Pilate asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And He answered him and said, "It is as you say."

But they urged Him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is getting toward evening, and the day is now nearly over." So He went in to stay with them.

He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.

Then they said to him, "Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?"

"I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water."

He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they came and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.

Jesus said to them, "Fill the waterpots with water." So they filled them up to the brim.

And He said to them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." So they took it to him.

So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

"As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;

so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

"But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."

"He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.

So He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph;

and Jacob's well was there. So Jesus, being wearied from His journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw."

So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men,

So the disciples were saying to one another, "No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?"
