So they answered the angel of Yahweh who was standing among the myrtle trees and said, "We have patrolled the earth, and behold, all the earth is sitting still and quiet."

Then I said, "Let them put a clean turban on his head." So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments, while the angel of Yahweh was standing by.

Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you—indeed they are men who are a wondrous sign, for behold, I am going to bring in My servant the Branch.

For who has despised the day of small things? But these seven will be glad when they see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel—these are the eyes of Yahweh which roam to and fro throughout the earth."

Then I lifted up my eyes and saw, and behold, two women were coming out with the wind in their wings; and they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heavens.

And I said to the angel who was speaking with me, "Where are they taking the ephah?"

Now the mighty ones went out, and they sought to go to patrol the earth." And He said, "Go, patrol the earth." So they patrolled the earth.

"Take an offering from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah, and Jedaiah; and you come the same day and come into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, where they have come from Babylon.

But they refused to give heed and turned a stubborn shoulder and dulled their ears from hearing.

And they made their hearts diamond-hard so that they could not hear the law and the words which Yahweh of hosts had sent by His Spirit by the hand of the former prophets; therefore great wrath came from Yahweh of hosts.

And it happened that just as He called and they would not listen, so they called and I would not listen," says Yahweh of hosts;

"but I scattered them with a storm wind among all the nations whom they have not known. Thus the land is desolated behind them so that no one was passing through and returning, for they made the pleasant land desolate."

and I will bring them back, and they will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God in truth and righteousness.'

And Hamath also, which borders on it;And Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise.

And I will remove their blood from their mouthAnd their detestable things from between their teeth.Then they also will be a remnant for our God,And be like a clan in Judah,And Ekron like a Jebusite.

Yahweh of hosts will defend them.And they will consume and trample on the stones of a sling;And they will drink and roar as with wine;And they will be filled like a sacrificial bowl,Drenched like the corners of the altar.

And Yahweh their God will save them in that dayAs the flock of His people;For they are as the stones of a crown,Sparkling in His land.

For the teraphim speak wickedness,And the diviners behold false visionsAnd speak worthless dreams;They comfort in vain.Therefore the people journey like sheep;They are afflicted because there is no shepherd.

And they will be as mighty men,Treading down the enemy in the mire of the streets in battle;And they will battle, for Yahweh will be with them;And the riders on horses will be put to shame.

I will make the house of Judah mighty,And I will save the house of Joseph,And I will cause them to return,Because I have had compassion on them;And they will be as though I had not rejected them,For I am Yahweh their God, and I will answer them.
