Now I know that the Lord gives victory to his anointed;he will answer him from his holy heavenwith mighty victories from his right hand.

You have given him his heart’s desireand have not denied the request of his lips.Selah

For you meet him with rich blessings;you place a crown of pure gold on his head.

His glory is great through your victory;you confer majesty and splendor on him.

You will make them burnlike a fiery furnace when you appear;the Lord will engulf them in his wrath,and fire will devour them.

For he has not despised or abhorredthe torment of the oppressed.He did not hide his face from himbut listened when he cried to him for help.

All who prosper on earth will eat and bow down;all those who go down to the dustwill kneel before him—even the one who cannot preserve his life.

They will come and declare his righteousness;to a people yet to be bornthey will declare what he has done.

He renews my life;he leads me along the right pathsfor his name’s sake.

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?Who may stand in his holy place?

He will receive blessing from the Lord,and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

He leads the humble in what is rightand teaches them his way.

All the Lord’s ways show faithful love and truthto those who keep his covenant and decrees.

He will live a good life,and his descendants will inherit the land.

The secret counsel of the Lordis for those who fear him,and he reveals his covenant to them.

I have asked one thing from the Lord;it is what I desire:to dwell in the house of the Lordall the days of my life,gazing on the beauty of the Lordand seeking him in his temple.

For he will conceal me in his shelterin the day of adversity;he will hide me under the cover of his tent;he will set me high on a rock.

Then my head will be highabove my enemies around me;I will offer sacrifices in his tent with shouts of joy.I will sing and make music to the Lord.

My heart says this about you:“Seek his face.”Lord, I will seek your face.

Because they do not considerwhat the Lord has doneor the work of his hands,he will tear them down and not rebuild them.
