For he draws up the drops of water; he distills his mist in rain,

For by these he governs peoples; he gives food in abundance.

For to the snow he says, ‘Fall on the earth'; and the shower of rain, his heavy shower of rain,

Whether for correction, or for his land, or for love, he causes it to happen.

when the morning stars sang together and all the heavenly beings shouted for joy?

and prescribed bounds for it, and set bars and doors,

Surely you know, for you were born then, and the number of your days is great!

which I have reserved for the time of trouble, for the day of battle and war?

"Who has cut a channel for the torrents of rain, and a way for the thunderbolt,

"Can you hunt the prey for the lion, or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,

Who provides for the raven its prey, when its young ones cry to God, and wander about for lack of food?

to which I have given the steppe for its home, the salt land for its dwelling place?

For it leaves its eggs to the earth, and lets them be warmed on the ground,

For the mountains yield food for it where all the wild animals play.

The lotus trees cover it for shade; the willows of the wadi surround it.

Will you play with it as with a bird, or will you put it on leash for your girls?

The arrow cannot make it flee; slingstones, for it, are turned to chaff.

‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite: "My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.

Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has done."
