Look, I am of small account; What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.

Have mercy on me, O Yahweh; for I am withered away: O Yahweh, heal me; for my bones are troubled.

I am weary with my groaning; Every night I make my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

Or else my enemy will say, I have prevailed against him; [and] my adversaries will rejoice when I am moved.

O my God, I cry in the daytime, but you don't answer; And in the night season, and am not silent.

But I am a worm, and not a man; A reproach of man, and despised of the people.

I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted inside me.

Turn to me, and have mercy on me; For I am desolate and afflicted.

Yahweh is my strength and my shield; My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped: Therefore my heart greatly rejoices; And with my song I will praise him.

Have mercy on me, O Yahweh, for I am in distress: My eye wastes away with grief, [yes], my soul and my body.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

As for me, I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: Nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications When I cried to you.

Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against those that pursue me: Say to my soul, I am your salvation.

I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread.

I am pained and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

I am faint and very bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

But I, as a deaf man, don't hear; And I am as a mute man that does not open his mouth.

Yes, I am as a man that does not hear, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me.

Yahweh, make me to know my end, And the measure of my days, what it is; Let me know how frail I am.
