"What do You want of us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know Who You are. You are the Holy One of God."

Soon many people gathered there. There was no more room, not even at the door. He spoke the Word of God to them.

"Why does this Man talk like this? He is speaking as if He is God! Who can forgive sins? Only One can forgive sins and that is God!"

At once the sick man got up and took his bed and went away. Everybody saw him. They were all surprised and wondered about it. They thanked God, saying, "We have never seen anything like this!"

Jesus heard it and said to them, "People who are well do not need a doctor. Only those who are sick need a doctor. I have not come to call those who are right with God. I have come to call those who are sinners."

He went into the house of God when Abiathar was head religious leader of the Jews. He ate the special bread used in the religious worship. The Law says only the Jewish religious leaders may eat that. David gave some to those who were with him also."

When demons saw Him, they got down at His feet and cried out, "You are the Son of God!"

For sure, I tell you, all sins will be forgiven people, and bad things they speak against God.

He said to them, "You were given the secrets about the holy nation of God. Everything is told in picture-stories to those who are outside the holy nation of God.

They see, but do not know what it means. They hear, but do not understand. If they did, they might turn to God and have their sins forgiven."

What the man plants is the Word of God.

He said, "The holy nation of God is like a man who plants seed in the ground.

Jesus said, "In what way can we show what the holy nation of God is like? Or what picture-story can we use to help you understand?

The man spoke with a loud voice and said, "What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I ask You, in the name of God, do not hurt me!"

Jesus said to them, "One who speaks for God is respected everywhere but in his own country and among his own family and in his own house."

Whoever does not take you in or listen to you, when you leave there, shake the dust off your feet. By doing that, you will speak against them. For sure, I tell you, it will be easier for the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day men stand before God and are judged than for that city."

Other people said, "He is Elijah." Others said, "He is one who speaks for God like one of the early preachers."

Herod was afraid of John. He knew he was a good man and right with God, and he kept John from being hurt or killed. He liked to listen to John preach. But when he did, he became troubled.

You put away the Laws of God and obey the laws made by men."

Jesus said to them, "You put away the Laws of God but keep your own teaching.
