The chief Kohanim and the Sofrim heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, for all the multitude was astonished at his teaching.

They came again to Yerushalayim, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief Kohanim, and the Sofrim, and the Zakenim came to him,

and they began saying to him, "By what authority do you do these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?"

They took him, beat him, and sent him away empty.

Again, he sent another servant to them; and they threw stones at him, wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully treated.

Again he sent another; and they killed him; and many others, beating some, and killing some.

They took him, killed him, and cast him forth out of the vineyard.

They tried to seize him, but they feared the multitude; for they perceived that he spoke the parable against them. They left him, and went away.

They sent some of the Perushim and of the Herodians to him, that they might catch him in words.

When they had come, they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and don't defer to anyone; for you aren't partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?

They brought it. He said to them, "Whose is this image and inscription?" They said to him, "Caesar's."

Yeshua answered them, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's." They marveled greatly at him.

But about the dead, that they are raised; haven't you read in the book of Moshe, at the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I am the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov?'

But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. Before governors and kings you will stand for my sake, for a testimony to them.

When they lead you away and deliver you up, don't be anxious beforehand, or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Ruach HaKodesh.

For there will arise false messiahs and false prophets, and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, also the elect.

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

It was now two days before the feast of the Pesach and the matzah, and the chief Kohanim and the Sofrim sought how they might sieze him by deception, and kill him.

For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor." They grumbled against her.

They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.
