Blessed be the Lord , For He has made marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a besieged city.

As for me, I said in my alarm, "I am cut off from before Your eyes"; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried to You.

For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah.

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

Sing for joy in the Lord , O you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright.

For the word of the Lord is upright, And all His work is done in faithfulness.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord , The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

A horse is a false hope for victory; Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness,

Our soul waits for the Lord ; He is our help and our shield.

For our heart rejoices in Him, Because we trust in His holy name.

O fear the Lord , you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.

Take hold of buckler and shield And rise up for my help.

For without cause they hid their net for me; Without cause they dug a pit for my soul.

All my bones will say, " Lord , who is like You, Who delivers the afflicted from him who is too strong for him, And the afflicted and the needy from him who robs him?"

They repay me evil for good, To the bereavement of my soul.

But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, And my prayer kept returning to my bosom.

I went about as though it were my friend or brother; I bowed down mourning, as one who sorrows for a mother.

For they do not speak peace, But they devise deceitful words against those who are quiet in the land.
