Jesus said to them, "The foxes have holes to live in, and the birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest his head."

He said to them, "There are a great many people to harvest, but there are only a few workers. So pray to God, who owns the harvest, that he will send more workers to help gather his harvest.

Stay in the same house, eating and drinking what the people there give you. A worker should be given his pay. Don't move from house to house.

Then Jesus turned to his followers and said privately, "You are blessed to see what you now see.

But the man, wanting to show the importance of his question, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

Jesus answered, "As a man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, some robbers attacked him. They tore off his clothes, beat him, and left him lying there, almost dead.

The Samaritan went to him, poured olive oil and wine on his wounds, and bandaged them. Then he put the hurt man on his own donkey and took him to an inn where he cared for him.

While Jesus and his followers were traveling, Jesus went into a town. A woman named Martha let Jesus stay at her house.

One time Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his followers said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray as John taught his followers."

So if Satan is divided against himself, his kingdom will not continue. You say that I use the power of Beelzebul to force out demons.

"When a strong person with many weapons guards his own house, his possessions are safe.

But the Pharisee was surprised when he saw that Jesus did not wash his hands before the meal.

This is why in his wisdom God said, ‘I will send prophets and apostles to them. They will kill some, and they will treat others cruelly.'

So many thousands of people had gathered that they were stepping on each other. Jesus spoke first to his followers, saying, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, because they are hypocrites.

Jesus said to his followers, "So I tell you, don't worry about the food you need to live, or about the clothes you need for your body.

Consider how the lilies grow; they don't work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.

"Remember this: If the owner of the house knew what time a thief was coming, he would not allow the thief to enter his house.

When the master comes and finds the servant doing his work, the servant will be blessed.

"The servant who knows what his master wants but is not ready, or who does not do what the master wants, will be beaten with many blows!

But the servant who does not know what his master wants and does things that should be punished will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded. And from the one trusted with much, much more will be expected.
