I belong to God and I work for Him. Last night an angel of God stood by me

and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand in front of Caesar. God has given you the lives of all the men on this ship.'

So take hope, men. I believe my God will do what He has told me.

After he said this, he took some bread. He gave thanks to God in front of them all. He broke it in pieces and started to eat.

The people waited. They thought his hand would get large and he would fall over dead. After watching for a long time, they saw nothing happen to him. Then they changed their minds and said that Paul was a god.

When the Christians heard of our coming, they came to meet us. They came as far as the town of Appius and to a place to stay called the Three Stores. When Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage.

They planned to meet him on a certain day. Many people came to the place where he stayed. He preached to them about the holy nation of God. He tried to get them to put their trust in Jesus Christ by preaching from the Law of Moses and from the writings of the early preachers. From morning until night he spoke to them.

"I want you to know that the Good News of God of knowing how to be saved from the punishment of sin has been sent to the people who are not Jews. And they will listen to it!"

He kept on preaching about the holy nation of God. He taught about the Lord Jesus Christ without fear. No one stopped him.

This letter is from Paul. I am a servant owned by Jesus Christ and a missionary chosen by God to preach His Good News.

The Holy Spirit proved by a powerful act that Jesus our Lord is the Son of God because He was raised from the dead.

So I write to all of you in the city of Rome. God loves you and has chosen you to be set apart for Himself. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you His loving-favor and peace.

First of all, I keep thanking my God, through Jesus Christ, for all of you. This is because the whole world knows of your faith in Christ.

God knows how I work for Him. He knows how I preach with all my heart the Good News about His Son. He knows how I always pray for you.

I pray that I might be able to visit you, if God wants me to.

Christian brothers, many times I have wanted to visit you. Something has kept me from going until now. I have wanted to lead some of you to Christ also, as I have done in other places where they did not know God.

I am not ashamed of the Good News. It is the power of God. It is the way He saves men from the punishment of their sins if they put their trust in Him. It is for the Jew first and for all other people also.

The Good News tells us we are made right with God by faith in Him. Then, by faith we live that new life through Him. The Holy Writings say, "A man right with God lives by faith."

We see the anger of God coming down from heaven against all the sins of men. These sinful men keep the truth from being known.

Men know about God. He has made it plain to them.
