Tell me, O you whom my soul loves, Where you feed [your flock], Where you make [it] to rest at noon: For why should I be as one that is veiled Beside the flocks of your companions?

Stay me with raisins, refresh me with apples; For I am sick from love.

For, look, the winter is past; The rain is over and gone;

O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the covert of the steep place, Let me see your countenance, Let me hear your voice; For sweet is your voice, and your countenance is comely.

Take for us the foxes, the little foxes, That spoil the vineyards; For our vineyards are in blossom.

Set me as a seal on your heart, As a seal on your arm: For love is as strong as death; Jealousy is as cruel as Sheol; The flashes thereof are flashes of fire, An intense flame of Yahweh.

Many waters can't quench love, Neither can floods drown it: If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, He would be completely despised.

We have a little sister, And she has no breasts: What shall we do for our sister In the day when she shall be spoken for?

Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; He let out the vineyard to keepers; Every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand [pieces] of silver.

You that dwell in the gardens, The companions listen for your voice: Cause me to hear it.

Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for Yahweh has spoken: I have nourished and brought up sons, and they have rebelled against me.

learn to do well; seek justice, correct oppression, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.

For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired, and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen.
