I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.

Be gracious to me, O Lord , for I am languishing; O Lord , heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror.

But I am a worm, and not human; scorned by others, and despised by the people.

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast;

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

Be gracious to me, O Lord , for I am in distress; my eye wastes away from grief, my soul and body also.

I am the scorn of all my adversaries, a horror to my neighbors, an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me.

I had said in my alarm, "I am driven far from your sight." But you heard my supplications when I cried out to you for help.

Draw the spear and javelin against my pursuers; say to my soul, "I am your salvation."

I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.

I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; all day long I go around mourning.

I am utterly spent and crushed; I groan because of the tumult of my heart.

But I am like the deaf, I do not hear; like the mute, who cannot speak.

Truly, I am like one who does not hear, and in whose mouth is no retort.

For I am ready to fall, and my pain is ever with me.

I confess my iniquity; I am sorry for my sin.

I am silent; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it.
