Sing to the LORD; for he has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth.

Rejoice and give praise, O inhabitant of Zion; for great is he that is in your midst, the Holy One of Israel.

Howl; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a plunder which is made suddenly.

For the stars of heaven and their constellations shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in its rising, and the moon shall not cause its light to shine.

And I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will bring low the haughtiness of the mighty.

For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate; for the vegetation is withered away, and the green grass is dried up, there is no green thing.

For the cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof as far as Eglaim, and the howling thereof to Beer-elim.
