now the valley of Siddim was full of tar pits—and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and they fell into them; but those who remained behind fled to the hill country.

Then they took all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food supply and departed.

They also took Lot, Abram's nephew, and his possessions and departed; now he was living in Sodom.

Then God said to Abram, "Know for certain that your seed will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.

But I will also judge the nation to whom they are enslaved, and afterward they will come out with many possessions.

For I have known him, so that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of Yahweh to do righteousness and justice, so that Yahweh may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him."
