The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom. They will receive authority to ruleto rule">[fn] as kings with the beast for one hour.Daniel 7:20; Zechariah 1:18-19,21; Revelation 13:1;">[xr]

They have one purpose: to give their power and authority to the beast.

The ten horns and the beast you saw will hate the prostitute. They will leave her abandoned and naked. They will eat her flesh and burn her up with fire,Jeremiah 50:41-42; Ezekiel 16:37-44; Revelation 16:12;">[xr]

for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose. And so they will give their kingdom to the beast until God's words are fulfilled.2 Thessalonians 2:11; Revelation 10:7;">[xr]

The beast was captured, along with the false prophet who had performed signs on its behalf.in its presence">[fn] By these signsBy which">[fn] the false prophethe">[fn] had deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Then I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were given authority to judge. I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or hands.
