Yirmeyahu said to the house of the Rechavim, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Because you have obeyed the mitzvah of Yehonadav your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all that he commanded you;

It may be that the house of Yehudah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return everyone from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that the LORD has pronounced against this people.

Therefore all the princes sent Yehudi the son of Netanyah, the son of Shelemyahu, the son of Kushi, to Barukh, saying, Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Barukh the son of Neriyah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

They asked Barukh, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?

Then Barukh answered them, He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.

Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Yehoiakim king of Yehudah: He shall have none to sit on the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and on the men of Yehudah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they didn't listen.

But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did listen to the words of the LORD, which he spoke by the prophet Yirmeyahu.

For though you had struck the whole army of the Kasdim who fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yes would they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.

then Yirmeyahu went forth out of Yerushalayim to go into the land of Binyamin, to receive his portion there, in the midst of the people.

Then Tzidkiyahu the king sent, and fetched him: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from the LORD? Yirmeyahu said, There is. He said also, You shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Bavel.

Thus says the LORD, He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he who goes forth to the Kasdim shall live, and his life shall be to him for a prey, and he shall live.

It happened when Yerushalayim was taken, (in the ninth year of Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah, in the tenth month, came Nevukhadretztzar king of Bavel and all his army against Yerushalayim, and besieged it;

Then the king of Bavel killed the sons of Tzidkiyahu in Rivlah before his eyes: also the king of Bavel killed all the nobles of Yehudah.

and the LORD has brought it, and done according as he spoke: because you have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come on you.

Don't be afraid of the king of Bavel, of whom you are afraid; don't be afraid of him, says the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand.

and tell them, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Behold, I will send and take Nevukhadretztzar the king of Bavel, my servant, and will set his throne on these stones that I have hidden; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Mitzrayim; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive: and he shall array himself with the land of Mitzrayim, as a shepherd puts on his garment; and he shall go forth from there in shalom.
