And forces shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and shall take away the continual [burnt-offering], and they shall set up the detestable thing that makes desolate.

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper until the indignation is accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done.

Neither shall he regard the gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall magnify himself above all.

But in his place he shall honor the god of fortresses; and a god whom his fathers did not know he shall honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

He shall enter also into the glorious land, and tens of thousands shall be overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the sons of Ammon.

He shall stretch forth his hand also on the countries; and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him that lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

And Yahweh said to him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.

And [Yahweh] said, Call his name Lo-ammi; for you are not my people, and I will not be your [God].

afterward the sons of Israel shall return, and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king, and shall come with fear to Yahweh and to his goodness in the latter days.

And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity; Judah also shall stumble with them.

When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah [saw] his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to the great king: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound.

And let us know, let us follow on to know Yahweh: his going forth is sure as the morning; and he will come to us as the rain, as the latter rain that waters the earth.

On the day of our king the princes made themselves sick with the heat of wine; he stretched out his hand with scoffers.

Strangers have devoured his strength, and he does not know [it]: yes, gray hairs are here and there on him, and he does not know [it].

And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: yet they have not returned to Yahweh their God, nor sought him, for all this.

For Israel has forgotten his Maker, and built palaces; and Judah has multiplied fortified cities: but I will send a fire on his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.

Ephraim [was] a watchman with my God: as for the prophet, a fowler's snare is in all his ways, [and] enmity in the house of his God.
