Jesus looked around Him. He said to His followers, "How hard it is for rich people to get into the holy nation of God!"

The followers were surprised and wondered about His words. But Jesus said to them again, "Children! How hard it is for those who put their trust in riches to get into the holy nation of God!

For the Son of Man did not come to be cared for. He came to care for others. He came to give His life so that many could be bought by His blood and be made free from sin."

Then they came to the city of Jericho. When He was leaving the city with His followers and many people, a blind man was sitting by the road. He was asking people for food or money as they passed by. His name was Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus.

As he jumped up, he threw off his coat and came to Jesus.

Jesus and His followers were near Jerusalem at the Mount of Olives. They were in the towns of Bethphage and Bethany. Jesus sent two of His followers on ahead.

Jesus said to the tree, "Let no one ever again eat fruit from you." His followers heard Him say it.

The teachers of the Law and the religious leaders of the Jews heard it. They tried to find some way to put Jesus to death. But they were afraid of Him because all the people were surprised and wondered about His teaching.

When evening came, Jesus and His followers went out of the city.

"The time came for gathering the grapes. He sent his servant to the farmers to get some of the grapes.

They took him and killed him. They threw his body outside the field.

Some of the proud religious law-keepers and Herod's men were sent to trap Jesus in His talk.

"Teacher, Moses gave us a Law. It said, ‘If a man's brother dies and leaves his wife behind, but no children, then his brother should marry his wife and raise children for his brother.'

A man should love Him with all his heart and with all his understanding. He should love Him with all his soul and with all his strength and love his neighbor as himself. This is more important than to bring animals to be burned on the altar or to give God other gifts on the altar in worship."

David himself calls Him Lord. Then how can He be his son?" Many people were glad to hear Him.

Jesus called His followers to Him. He said, "For sure, I tell you, this poor woman whose husband has died has given more money than all the others.

Jesus went out of the house of God. One of His followers said to Him, "Teacher, look at the big stones and these great buildings!"

A brother will hand over a brother to death. A father will hand over his son. Children will turn against their parents and have them put to death.

He that is on the top of the house should not take the time to get anything out of his house.

He that is in the field should not go back to get his coat.
