Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!

Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands,

Acts 1:18,19">[xr] Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him."

When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. [fn] You see to it."

And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children."

When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"

And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.

Mark 15:21-32; Luke 23:26-43; John 19:17-27">[xr] Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross.

Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, [fn] that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: "They divided My garments among them,And for My clothing they cast lots." Psalms 22:18 ">[fn]

And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.

Therefore command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest His disciples come by night [fn] and steal Him away, and say to the people, 'He has risen from the dead.' So the last deception will be worse than the first."

His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.

And as they went to tell His disciples, [fn] behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held Him by the feet and worshiped Him.

saying, "Tell them, "His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.'
