But as for me, though I am afflicted and pained, your salvation will protect me, O God.

But I am poor and needy; O God hasten to me. You are my help and my deliverer. O Yahweh, do not delay.

And even when I am old and gray, O God, do not abandon me until I proclaim your strength to this generation, your power to every one that comes after.

But I am continually with you; you have hold of my right hand.

You hold open my eyelids. I am troubled and cannot speak.

I am Yahweh your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

A prayer of David. Incline, O Yahweh, your ear and answer me, because I am poor and needy.

Watch over my life because I am faithful. You are my God; save your servant. I am the one who trusts you.

I am reckoned with those descending to the pit. I am like a man without strength,

You have removed my acquaintances far from me. You have made me detestable to them. I am confined and cannot go out.

I am afflicted and perishing from my youth. I bear your terrors. I am distraught.

I am like an owl of the wilderness; I am like a little owl of the ruins.

I lie awake and I am like a lone bird on a roof.

In return for my love they accuse me, though I am in prayer.

for I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

Like a lengthening shadow I am passing away; I am shaken off like a locust.

And so I am a disgrace to them; when they see me, they shake their heads.

I believed when I spoke, "I am afflicted greatly."

Ah, Yahweh, I am indeed your servant; I am your servant, the child of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds.

I am a sojourner on the earth; do not hide your commands from me.
