Jesus therefore went up into a mountain: and there he sat with his disciples.

When Jesus therefore had lifted up his eyes and seen that a very great multitude cometh to him, he said to Philip: Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, saith to him:

And when they were filled, he said to his disciples: gather up the fragments that remain, lest they be lost.

And when evening was come, his disciples went down to the sea.

The next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other ship there but one: and that Jesus had not entered into the ship with his disciples, but that his disciples were gone away alone.

When therefore the multitude saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they took shipping and came to Capharnaum, seeking for Jesus.

(6-53) The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

(6-54) Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen, I say unto you: except you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you.

(6-61) Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard; and who can hear it?

(6-62) But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them: Doth this scandalize you?

(6-67) After this, many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him.

And his brethren said to, him: Pass from hence and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou dost.

For neither did his brethren believe in him.

But after his brethren were gone up, then he also went up to the feast, not openly, but, as it were, in secret.

Jesus answered them and said: My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true and there is no injustice in him.

They sought therefore to apprehend him: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.

He that believeth in me, as the scripture saith: Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Of that multitude therefore, when they had heard these words of his, some said: This is the prophet indeed.
