For nothing is impossible for God.

Now the time came for Elizabeth to be delivered, and she gave birth to a son.

And he asked for a tablet and wrote, saying, John is his name. And every one was surprised.

Blessed is the Lord, the God of Israel; for he has visited his people and wrought a salvation for them.

And he has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;

Just as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets who have been for ages,

And you, boy, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for you will go before the face of the Lord, to prepare his way;

And the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you glad tidings of great joy, which will be to all the world.

For today is born to you in the city of David, a Saviour, who is the Lord Christ.

And this is a sign for you; You will find a babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good hope for men.

And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all that they had seen and heard, as it was spoken to them.

And when the days for their purification were fulfilled, according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simon; and this man was pious and righteous, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
