And the angel answering said to him, I am Gabriel, that stands in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you these good tidings.

And Mary said, Look, [I am] the Lord's slave; let it happen to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.

John answered, saying to them all, I indeed baptize you in water; but there comes he that is mightier than I, the lace of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and [in] fire:

and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, on him, and a voice came out of heaven, You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.

But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

And Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the captain sent friends, saying to him, Lord, don't trouble yourself; for I am not worthy that you should come under my roof:

For I also am a man set under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it.

And it came to pass, as he was praying apart, the disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am?

And he said to them, But who do you say that I am? And Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how I am straitened until it is accomplished!

And he said to them, Go and say to that fox, Look, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third [day] I am perfected.

I am no more worthy to be called your son: make me as one of your hired workers.

And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight: I am no more worthy to be called your son.

And the steward said to himself, What shall I do, seeing that my lord takes away the stewardship from me? I don't have strength to dig; I am ashamed to beg.

I have resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am in anguish in this flame.

The Pharisee stood and prayed these things to himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

He says to him, Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked slave. You knew that I am an austere man, taking up that which I did not lay down, and reaping that which I did not sow;

And he said, Take heed that you are not led astray: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am [he]; and, The time is at hand: don't go after them.

For which is greater, he that sits at meat, or he that serves? Isn't it he that sits at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serves.
