instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age,

who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.

Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning,

knowing that such a person has deviated from what is right and is sinning, being self-condemned.

Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our beloved brother and fellow worker,

yet for love's sake I rather appeal to you—since I am such a person as Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus—

For perhaps it was for this reason that he was separated from you for a while, that you would have him back forever,

no longer as a slave, but more than a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

If then you regard me as a partner, accept him as you would me.

At the same time also prepare me a guest room, for I hope that through your prayers I will be given to you.

having become so much better than the angels, to the extent that He has inherited a more excellent name than they.

For to which of the angels did He ever say, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE FATHERED YOU"? And again, "I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE WILL BE A SON TO ME"?

And regarding the angels He says, "HE MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE."

THEY WILL PERISH, BUT YOU REMAIN; AND THEY ALL WILL WEAR OUT LIKE A GARMENT,

AND LIKE A ROBE YOU WILL ROLL THEM UP; LIKE A GARMENT THEY WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. BUT YOU ARE THE SAME, AND YOUR YEARS WILL NOT COME TO AN END."

But to which of the angels has He ever said, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET"?

For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every violation and act of disobedience received a just punishment,

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,

But someone has testified somewhere, saying, "WHAT IS MAN, THAT YOU THINK OF HIM? OR A SON OF MAN, THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HIM?

"YOU HAVE MADE HIM FOR A LITTLE WHILE LOWER THAN ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR;
