Here is another reason why we constantly give thanks to God: When you received God's word, which you heard from us, you did not accept it as the word of humans but for what it really is - the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.Matthew 10:40; Galatians 4:14; 1 Thessalonians 1:3; 2 Peter 3:2;">[xr]

For you, brothers, became imitators of the churches of God in Judea that are in union with Christ Jesus. You suffered the same persecutions from the people of your own country as they did from those JewsActs 17:5,13; Galatians 1:22; Hebrews 10:33-34;">[xr]

who killed the Lord Jesus and thetheir own">[fn] prophets and have persecuted us. They are displeasing to God and are the enemies of all people,Esther 3:8; Matthew 5:12; Luke 13:33-34; Acts 2:23; 3:15; 5:30; 7:52;">[xr]

and send Timothy, our brother and fellow worker for God in the gospel of Christ,of Christ">[fn] to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,Romans 16:21; 1 Corinthians 16:10; 2 Corinthians 1:19;">[xr]

How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy that we have in God's presence because of you?1 Thessalonians 1:2;">[xr]
