But as for the sons of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.

And it came to pass, when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, that they sent and called him to the congregation, and made him king over all Israel: there was none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only.

But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

And he said to him, I also am a prophet as you are; and an angel spoke to me by the word of Yahweh, saying, Bring him back with you into your house, that he may eat bread and drink water. [But] he lied to him.

but came back, and have eaten bread and drank water in the place of which he said to you, Eat no bread, and drink no water; your body shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.

After this thing Jeroboam did not return from his evil way, but made again from among all the people priests of the high places: whoever would, he consecrated him, that there might be priests of the high places.

but have done evil above all that were before you, and have gone and made for yourself other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and have cast me behind your back:

Moreover Yahweh will raise up for himself a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.

But the high places were not taken away: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect with Yahweh all his days.

Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

And she said, As Yahweh your God lives, I don't have a cake, but a handful of meal in the jar, and a little oil in the cruse: and, look, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

And Elijah said to her, Don't be afraid; go and do as you have said; but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it forth to me, and afterward make for yourself and for your son.

And it will come to pass, as soon as I am gone from you, I don't know where the Spirit of Yahweh will carry you; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he can't find you, he will slay me: but I your slave have feared Yahweh from my youth.

And he answered, I haven't troubled Israel; but you, and your father's house, in that you have forsaken the commandments of Yahweh, and you have followed the Baalim.

And Elijah came near to all the people, and said, How long do you go limping between the two sides? if Yahweh is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Then Elijah said to the people, I, even I only, am left a prophet of Yahweh; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
