"As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

And when He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus *said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They *said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

He *said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"

While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, "This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!"

For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst."

The young man *said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"

But he answered and said to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?'

But Jesus answered and said, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?" They *said to Him, "We are able."

‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."

"On account of this, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city,

For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.

And He said, "Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, "My time is near; I am keeping the Passover at your house with My disciples."'"

and said, "This man stated, ‘I am able to destroy the sanctuary of God and to rebuild it in three days.'"

Now when Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of this man's blood; see to that yourselves."
