But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, "If it were a matter of some crime or vicious, unscrupulous act, O Jews, it would be reasonable for me to put up with you;

the promise to which our twelve tribes hope to attain, as they earnestly serve God night and day. For this hope, O king, I am being accused by Jews.

at midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who were journeying with me.

"WHERE, O DEATH, IS YOUR VICTORY? WHERE, O DEATH, IS YOUR STING?"

"THEN I SAID, 'BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IT IS WRITTEN OF ME IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.'"

and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who live on the earth?"

And I heard the angel of the waters saying, "Righteous are You, the One who is and who was, O Holy One, because You judged these things;

"Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced judgment for you against her."
