And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said to him, "You are the Christ!"

But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking! Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?"

And they said to him, "We are able." So Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup that I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with,

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your sins." And they came again to Jerusalem. And as he was walking in the temple courts, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came up to him and said to him, "By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority that you do these things?" So Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer me!" And they began to discuss this with one another, saying, "What should we say? If we say ‘From heaven,' he will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?' But if we say, ‘From men'"—they were afraid of the crowd, because they all looked upon John as truly a prophet. And they replied to Jesus saying, "We do not know." And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things."

So Jesus said to them, "I will ask you one question. Answer me and I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

And they replied to Jesus saying, "We do not know." And Jesus said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things."

Now concerning the dead, that they are raised, have you not read in the book of Moses in the passage about the bush how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob'?

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,' and they will deceive many.

But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."

And Jesus said, "I am, and you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power and coming with the clouds of heaven."

And Zechariah said to the angel, "By what will I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years!"

And the angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to announce to you this good news.

John answered them all, saying, "I baptize you with water, but the one who is more powerful than I am is coming, of whom I am not worthy to untie the strap of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."

And when he saw it, Simon Peter fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, Lord, because I am a sinful man!"

And extending his hand he touched him, saying, "I am willing; be clean." And immediately the leprosy went away from him.

So Jesus went with them. Now by this time he was not far away from the house, and the centurion sent friends, saying to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy that you should come in under my roof.

For I also am a man placed under authority, who has soldiers under me, and I say to this one, ‘Go!' and he goes, and to another one, ‘Come!' and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!' and he does it."

It is this man about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I am sending my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.'

And it happened that while he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, saying, "Who do the crowds say that I am?"
