Luke 13:34,35">[xr] "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced,

And all the people answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children."

But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs."

"Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me."

Matthew 19:13-15; Luke 18:15-17">[xr] Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches [fn] to enter the kingdom of God!

So Jesus answered and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife [fn] or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's,

who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life.

"Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man's brother dies, and leaves his wife behind, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.

Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God.

He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' Malachi 4:5, 6">[fn] and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, "We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, saying: "We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not weep.'

But wisdom is justified by all her children."

and he will answer from within and say, "Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
