He who comes to me and does not put aside his father, and his mother, and his brothers, and his sisters, and his wife, and his children, and even his own life, he cannot be a disciple to me.

And the lord praised the unjust steward because he had done wisely; for the children of this world are wiser in their generation than the children of light.

But Jesus called them, and said to them, Permit the children to come to me, and do not stop them; for the kingdom of heaven is for those who are like these.

Teacher, Moses wrote to us, that if a man''s brother should die, and has a wife without children, let his brother take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.

Now there were seven brothers; the first married and died without children.

The second married his wife, and he died without children.

And the third one married her again; and likewise the seven of them; and they died leaving no children.

But Jesus turned to them and said, O daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over me; but weep over yourselves, and over your own children.

For the promise was made to you and to your children, and for all of those who are far off, even as many as the very God shall call.

He dealt deceitfully with our kindred, ill treated our forefathers, and commanded that they cast out their male children to the end that they might not live.

And when he was forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren, the children of Israel.

This is the Moses who said to the children of Israel, The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet, like me, from among your brethren; give heed to him.

But the LORD said to him, Arise and go: he is the agent whom I have chosen for myself to carry my name to the Gentiles and kings, and the children of Israel:

For God sent the word to the children of Israel, preaching peace and tranquility by Jesus Christ: he is the LORD of all.

Behold God has fulfilled it unto us their children, for he has raised up Jesus, just as it is written in the second psalm, You are my son, this day I have begotten you.

After these days, we departed on our journey, and they all escorted us on our way with their wives and children, till we were out of the city: then they knelt down by the seaside and prayed;
