Shout for joy, O heavens, for Yahweh has done it!Make a loud shout, you lower parts of the earth;Break forth into a shout of joy, you mountains,O forest, and every tree in it;For Yahweh has redeemed JacobAnd in Israel He shows forth His beautiful glory.

Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb,"I, Yahweh, am the maker of all things,Stretching out the heavens by MyselfAnd spreading out the earth all alone,

"Drip down, O heavens, from above,And let the skies pour down righteousness;Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit,And righteousness spring up with it.I, Yahweh, have created it.

It is I who made the earth and created man upon it.I stretched out the heavens with My hands,And I commanded all their host.

For thus says Yahweh, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it; He established it and did not create it a formless place, but formed it to be inhabited),"I am Yahweh, and there is none else.

Also, My hand founded the earth,And My right hand spread out the heavens;When I call to them, they stand together.

Shout for joy, O heavens! And rejoice, O earth!Break forth into joyful shouting, O mountains!For Yahweh has comforted His peopleAnd will have compassion on His afflicted.

I clothe the heavens with blacknessAnd make sackcloth their covering."

I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are My people.'"

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your waysAnd My thoughts than your thoughts.

Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down,That the mountains might quake at Your presence—

"For behold, I am creating a new heavens and a new earth;And the former things will not be remembered or come upon the heart.

"For just as the new heavens and the new earthWhich I make will endure before Me," declares Yahweh,"So your seed and your name will endure.

Be appalled, O heavens, at this,And be horribly afraid, be very devastated," declares Yahweh.

I saw on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void;And to the heavens, and they had no light.

For this the earth shall mournAnd the heavens above be darkBecause I have spoken; I have purposed,And I will not relent, nor will I turn from it."

Thus you shall say to them, "The gods that did not make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from under the heavens."

It is He who made the earth by His power,Who established the world by His wisdom;And by His understanding He has stretched out the heavens.

When He gives forth His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens,And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth;He makes lightning for the rain,And brings out the wind from His storehouses.

Are there any among the idols of the nations who give rain?Or can the heavens give showers?Is it not You, O Yahweh our God?Therefore we hope in You,For You are the one who has done all these things.
